Daily Prayer for the Next Generation

 

 Day 23: Growing into Emotionally Mature Person -High Emotional Intelligence

 

“But the fruit of Spirit is love, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control: against such things there is no law.”  (Galatians 5: 22-23)

 

Lord, sometimes we aren’t always aware of what emotions we are displaying.  We are to understand of the strengths and weaknesses in our own personalities.  

 

We especially need to aware of our negative feelings, such as anger and fear, so that we will be better equipped for helping our next generation how to handle such feelings.  

 

We lift up our next generation and ourselves together to You, O Lord. Emotionally intelligent people understand how to handle tough situations without unnecessarily escalating them. They have ability to manage their emotions regardless of the circumstances.

 

O Lord, the more we pray on it, the more we are confirmed that we need the sufficient love to go to emotional maturity; ”long-suffering, gentle, not rude, not easily angered…” The Scripture teaches us that love and emotional maturity go together. 

 

Apostle Paul urged us “to desire a greater gift, love.” Lord, we desire for the growing into our emotional maturity. Please empower us with greater love.

 

Lord, with that love, we will listen to understand, instead of listening to answer. We will not be running with empty love tank but with full love tank,  recharged by Your Spirit.

 

Lord, bless us and the next generation as we follow the goals for the journey to our emotional maturity.

 

Lord, help us and our next generation to recognize our triggers that causes us emotional reaction negatively.

 

Lord, help us and our next generation to set healthy boundaries and identify what we stand for and what is our limits.

 

Lord, help us to observe rather than react.  Please help us to identify our emotions.

 

Lord, help us to think twice before reacting.  When we are in overwhelming emotions, help us to handle it proactively not reactively.

 

Lord, You are our Chief Guidance Councelor.  Lord, help us and our next generation growing into the emotional maturity as we follow your guidance.  Use us and our next generation to convey the message of Your love as your channel   of blessings to those around us with mature emotions.

 

We praise You, and thank You, our Savior, our Lord.
